Restoring Folders to a PST restores them to the Root of the PST rather than their original location. (4252985)

When restoring a folder by right clicking it and selecting the "restore" option, Recovery Manager for Exchange does not provide an option to restore the folder keeping the original folder hierarchy intact.

WorkAround:

When Restoring a folder subfolders can be restored as well, however any Parent folder structure would need to be created in the Target storage prior to the restore.

1. Right-Click Target Storages and Select Add Storages
2. Select "Access Personal Folders (.pst) files" and click Next
3. Click the Add Button, and key in a file name for your new PST
4. Select the option for "Office Outlook Personal Folders File"
5. Click Next and then click Finish
6. Locate the new PST under Target Storages
7. Right-Click the PST file name and select  "Create New Folder"
8. If Additional subfolders must also be created right click each folder and select "Create New Folder" to create a subfolder within it.
9. Under the Source Storage right click the folder you wish to restore, and select "Restore"
10. Select the option to restore Folders to a registered target storeage
11. In the Folder Restore wizard expand the Target Storage and select the folder that the source folder should be restored into.
12. Complete the folder restore wizard and verify that the folder has been restored to the correct location in the PST file.

WorkAround 2:

These steps should provide an export where the parent  and subfolder structure is created.

1. In the RME console navigate to the folder you wish to restore from your Source Storage
2. Right-Click the folder and select Find
3. In the Find Dialog box click the Find Now button to return all messages from the folder
4. Click "Select All"
5. Click "Restore"
6. In the Restore Wizard select "Group Messages By Mailboxes"
7. Click Next
8. Select the "Separate .pst file" option
9. Click next
10. Select the location to store the newly created PST file
11. Click Next
12. Specify Target File Preferences
13. And Click Next
14. Click Finish
15. Open the PST file in outlook or add as a Source Storage in Recovery Manager for Exchange
