While opening a stripped message from within Outlook, an error message appears where the attachment is expected that reads:
"Unable to save to C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\OLK###\<filename> with ADO Stream."
When opening the folder, the expected attachment already exists.
NOTE: You cannot browse to the OLK folder itself, the entire path must be entered.
Deleting the attachment from the OLK### folder allows the stripped message with attachment to succeed as expected.
The attachment was previously opened through Outlook and stored in this temporary location. This is default behavior of Outlook when opening an attachment without first saving it to disk.
The user does not have NTFS write permissions on the OLK### folder allowing the stripped message to overwrite it while reconstructing.
Give the user NTFS write permission to the Temporary Internet Files directory and ensure it includes all subdirectories.
