Upgraded LiteSpeed using Remote Deployment. Some servers upgraded successfully. Some servers got error "Installation failed (1603): Fatal Error"

Attempting to upgrade using 'LiteSpeed Remote Deploy Configuration'. Some servers upgraded successfully. At the 'Deploy Status' step in the Remote Deploy Configuration Wizard, some Severs got error "Installation failed (1603): Fatal Error"

This is a general Microsoft error with lots of possible causes. 

One possible cause is that for the windows machines on which the install failed, those systems are still using the older .NET Framework version 3.5. LiteSpeed versions 8 and higher require .NET Framework version version 4.5.

RESOLUTION 1 (if using old version NET Framework):

Upgrade to .NET Framework version 4.5 on on the Windows systems where you are planning on installing LiteSpeed version 8 and higher. (You may find that those systems running the old .NET Framework have been wanting to get that update applied for some time already).

RESOLUTION 2

Copy over the LiteSpeed upgrader file to the machine upon which LiteSpeed is to be upgraded and ran the installer from there. Using the installer on the local instance may work out successfully.
