When attempting to install Toad, the following error message occurs:
The installation of component TOAD_Standalone has failed.
Products affected by this failure are;
Toad for Oracle
1610
The installation will now abort.
Followed by a Windows Installer Error:
The configuration data for this product is corrupt. Contact your support personnel.
Could be caused by installing Toad with non-administrative rights or the Windows installer might not be updated. Maybe an issue only with Toad 9.5 to Toad 9.7.
WORKAROUND 1:
Log into the workstation as an administrative account, then install Toad for Oracle. Please consult your Network Administrator.
WORKAROUND 2:
Update your Windows installer by running Windows Updates.
WORKAROUND 3:
If you are installing on a machine with Vista, make sure that you have the User Account Control (UAC) options disabled. Here is a link that explains how to disable this option.

Check the Windows Event Viewer and see if there is an error similar to:
