The DBA menu drop down is no longer in the menu bar after upgrade to Toad 9.0. The license key being used does have the DBA option on it. What happened to the DBA commands?
In Toad 9.0, the menu bar has been redesigned to be more intuitive. In order to do this, development had to add or remove some menu drop downs and rearrange the commands within them. Everything is still there that was in the DBA menu drop down, they are just relocated to where it would be more logical to find them. In the older versions of Toad, the DBA drop down did not include only things opened by the DBA option and did not include everything that the DBA option opened. There was really no order as to why things were located where they were. The way the menu bar is designed now will make it a lot easier to find what you are looking for. It is understood that it will take a little time to get used to, but it is believed that this change will make Toad easier to use in the long run.
In some cases 9.0 was installed directly over previous installs. In these cases a reset of the toolbars may be needed to have view of all functions.
Reset the menu to default 9.0 menu layout settings:
1. View | Toad Options | Toolbars and Menus | Toolbars, select User Default (or any that does not note "READ ONLY").
2. Click OK to Options window.
3. Over menu bar, right click and select Customize.
4. Under the toolbars tab, click the Reset button, then close Option window.
Most of the features that were listed under the DBA drop down menu can now be found in the DATABASE drop down menu.
