If before installing UCCS Analytics one chooses to install WCF Data Services of version higher than 5.0 as prerequisite check requires (it states “WCF Data Services 5 for OData v3 or later”), then after application is installed, it is not possible to access UCCS Analytics UI.
Error reported: “The application failed to start”.
To confirm that this exact issue is encountered, open Dev Console in browser (F12), start capturing traffic (IE only) and refresh the page. The very last entry in the network tab should be like the one shown in the image below (for higher resolution images click on the images attached to this KB article):
