Spotlight causing log full condition (4247480)

Spotlight on DB2 is left running overnight monitoring the DB2 instance.  db2diag.log eventually showed that this caused the transaction log to fill up.  Error is similar to the following:

The active log is full and is held by application handle "1167".  Terminate this application by COMMIT, ROLLBACK or FORCE APPLICATION.

Closing Spotlight or killing the session frees up the resources.

WORKAROUND

Do not run Spotlight overnight.  Use it only when diagnosing a problem in real-time.

STATUS

Waiting for fix in a future release of Spotlight on DB2.
