Multiple or duplicate RAC nodes are in the databases dashboard or database homepage dropdown list (4247058)

After opening the Homepage dashboard of a RAC database, there are multiple entries of the RAC nodes in the drop down list to select a specific node.

Duplicate or blank RAC nodes are listed in the database dashboard.

CAUSE 1

Two agents are monitoring the same RAC database.

CAUSE 2

Duplicate topologies were created

RESOLUTION 1

To delete the duplicate entries in the drop down list, delete the second agent and its data

1. In the Agent Status page, deactivate all of the Oracle_RAC and Oracle_RAC_Instance database agents monitoring the same Oracle RAC
2. Delete the duplicate set of Oracle RAC and Oracle_RAC_Instance agents, leaving only one set remaining.
3. Open Databases | Support Dashboard | Database technical Support
4. Switch between the Db types tabs (DB2, Oracle, or SQL Server accordingly)
5. Click on Clear Agent data
6. Highlight the agent which is missing from Database Dashboard and has topology duplication
7. Click on the Delete button
8. Click on Clear Agent Model Data
9. Highlight the agent which is missing from Database Dashboard and has topology duplication
10. Click on the Delete button
11. Check the Topology and see duplication is now gone
12. Check Databases Dashboard and see if the agent is now there.
13. Activate the agent from Agent Status
14. Return to the Databases Dashboard and wait a few minutes for the data to be collected.

RESOLUTION 2

Delete the duplicate topology that was created for the RAC agent nodes.

1. In the Agent Status page, deactivate the database agent with the duplicate topology.
2. Open Databases | Support Dashboard | Database technical Support
3. Switch between the Db types tabs (DB2, Oracle, or SQL Server accordingly)
4. Click on Clear Agent data
5. Highlight the agent which is missing from Database Dashboard and has topology duplication
6. Click on the Delete button
7. Click on Clear Agent Model Data
8. Highlight the agent which is missing from Database Dashboard and has topology duplication
9. Click on the Delete button
10. Check the Topology and see duplication is now gone
11. Check Databases Dashboard and see if the agent is now there.
12. Activate the agent from Agent Status
13. Return to the Databases Dashboard and wait a few minutes for the data to be collected.
