When opening File | Connections | Data Source, some database connection types are missing (e.g. SQL Server, DB2, PostgreSQL, Greenplum, etc.). How to enable additional data source/ database types in Toad Data Modeler (TDM)?
Toad Data Modeler might have been installed from a Toad for Oracle Edition or suite e.g. Toad for Oracle Xpert Edition or during installation, the database types where not selected or enabled.
RESOLUTION 1:
1. Re-run the installer
2. On the Setup Wizard, choose Modify
4. Select the database types as required
5. Complete the rest of the install wizard
RESOLUTION 2:
1. Close all instances of Toad Data Modeler on the PC.
2. Go to Start | Settings | Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs.
3. Locate Quest Software Toad Data Modeler.
4. Click on the Change button.
5. On the Setup Wizard, choose the Modify radio button and click Next.
6. Under the Select Features page, select the database platform desired and choose Entire feature will be installed on local hard drive.
7. Complete the rest of the install wizard.
8. Retry the connections to see if the data source needed is listed.
