Is there an option to encrypt erwin model files or they are binary files? (4245131)

erwin DM models are not encrypted and are saved as .erwin file. Any encryption or decryption would need to be handled externally. Please note that during opening of a file, the application does check the version of the file. If it is from a later version than is being used, it will give an error that the file cannot be opened. If it is from an earlier compatible version, it will initiate a process to convert the file to the application version being used to open that file.

We provide this detail as the version specific information is also stored along with the model. If the external encryption and decryption process somehow impacts the format of that file, the application may not be able to open the file for compatibility reasons.
