Execute SQL via SQLPlus is disabled in Toad for Oracle Read-Only
Description

After installing Toad for Oracle Read-only version, the "Execute SQL Via SQLPlus" option is disabled.
Cause

“Execute via SQL*Plus” is an oversight in 10.6 Read-Only – it is not supposed to be enabled.
Resolution

Toad for Oracle read-only is working as designed. This is to prevent users from running scripts that might alter the database.
