Numbers with decimals get changed to whole numbers after exporting to Excel
Description
When exporting data to an Excel spreadsheet, the numbers lose their decimals and get rounded to a whole number. The number looks correct in the data grid, but not in the Excel sheet after exporting.
Cause
In previous versions, decimal characters were truncated to 4 digit precision (Example: 999.1234). Some users wanted to see all precision values. In Oracle this can be as much as 38 digits and Excel only accommodates 15 digit precision. So, in TDP 3.3 we changed to export decimals as text, so that you can see all values. Using general format exports as 0 decimals (Example: 999) and using standard results in text and all values (999.123456789).
Resolution
WORKAROUND: None
STATUS: Waiting for fix to be released in a future version of Toad Data Point.
Defect ID
ST110495
Additional Information
An option will be added in a future release to allow the precision to be chosen how the customer wants it.
