Unable to install LiteSpeed on Virtual nodes in a cluster as it causes errors which makes it not -
Description
Installing LiteSpeed on a cluster environment which has virtual nodes. It is not possible to choose the virtual instances in the Instance configuration and only the physical nodes are displayed. Continuing with the install displays an error saying that the server names mismatch and to run the procedure sp_addServer and sp_RemoveServer.

Cause
The problem is that it is not possible to rename the physical instance to the virtual instance name on the instance configuration wizard.

Resolution
WORKAROUND:
A new version of Litespeed has been introduced which basically allows the instance names to be overwritten in the Instance Configuration screen so that you are able to use the virtual instance names. You will still get the message about the server name mismatch but it is possible to ignore/skip this message and continue with the install. The latest version of LiteSpeed for SQL Server can be downloaded at: http://support.quest.com/support_download/Downloads.asp
STATUS:
The feature to rename the instances will be available from version 4.6.0.328. -

This is also applicable for Veritas Cluster installations.
