Why is the "Enable using DBA views" option on the connection screen grayed out sometimes and sometimes it is not? How can you update this option if it is grayed out?
What determines if the "Enable using DBA views" option on the connection window is grayed out or not is whether or not there is a connection established with that instance of SQL Navigator. If there is a connection made to Oracle then it is grayed out. If there is no connection to an Oracle database then the option will not be grayed out.
The default for this option is to have it checked. There are two places that you can change whether it is checked or not. The first is on the connection window, as long as you are not connected. The second is by going to View | Preferences | General - Session. Here you can change it whether there is a connection or not. The option is called "Enable using DBA dictionary views" in this section.
