"The following internal error occurred: Access violation at address 1317BEB9 in module 'SoW.spx'. Read of address 00000000" message occurs trying to connect to SpotLight on SQL Server and having the option "Connect to SpotLight on Windows" enabled as well.
The is because SoW.spx file has been corrupted which is used to make the connection to the monitored host
RESOLUTION :
To resolve this issue SoW.spx file needs to be replaced. Obtain a copy either from another machine that is running successfully (*) or contact Support. Perform the following steps for replacing this file.
1. Exit from SpotLight and delete the file SoW.Spx from the following directory:
\Quest Central\Spotlight\Plug-ins\SoW
2. Copy over the new file into the same location.
3. Restart SpotLight on Windows
You should now be able to connect to SpotLight on Windows through your SpotLight connection.
(*) Make sure the computer is running the same version of Spotlight
