Get "ORA-12538: TNS:no such protocol adapter" when opening workspace after upgrade -
Description
After upgrading to v12.12, an "ORA-12538: TNS:no such protocol adapter" error is received when trying to open a workspace. This workspace works fine in the previous version. -
Cause
Workspace migrated incorrectly. Using incorrect protocol for direct connection. -
Resolution
WORKAROUND:Contact Quest Support to get your workspace file modified, so it will work correctly. Quest Support can be contacted by creating a service request here.STATUS:This issue is fixed in Toad for Oracle 13.1. This version can be downloaded from the downloads section of our website, which you can access by clicking here.
