Trying to connect to the Exchange Organization fails and the error in the log is: "An error occurred while opening the LDAP session"
This generally occurs when MessageStats cannot find the name of the Exchange server that was specified as the Connection server.
If the Exchange server being specified as the Connection server is in a cluster, enter the cluster name and not the node name as the Connection server.
You can also verify the Exchange server object can be found from the MessageStats server by running ADSIEdit.msc from the MessageStats server:
1. If necessary, install ADSIEdit and run adsiedit.msc
2. Connect to the Configuration partition of your domain
3. Expand CN=Services | CN=Microsoft Exchange | CN=Administrative Groups | Your Administrative Group Name | Servers
4. Verify the name entered for the Connection server matches a server object found in the Servers container
