A HQ or branch subscribes to a Calendar publication which creates mailbox-enabled stub user objects in the subscribing domains Active Directory. If a user from the publishing domain then logs onto a resource in the subscribing domain and tries to run Outlook, Outlook connects to the stub mailbox and not the users source mailbox in the publishing domain.
This can occurr becuase of the Exchange Autodiscover service
Collaboration Services is working correctly as a mailbox-enabled stub user object has to be created when subscribing to a Calendar publication. QCS does not control the configuration of Outlook or Mail profiles.
Using Outlook Web Access should allow the user to connect to the mailbox in the publishing domain.
