When starting SQL Navigator, the window comes up and then everything disappears. SQL Navigator appears in the Windows Task Bar, but it does not do anything. Alt Tab shows the icon. Uninstalling and re installing the product does not resolve this issue.
SQL Navigator has been set to open on another monitor, in a multiple monitor setup, but the window does not appear because it is set to be visible on the other screen.
NOTE: Before disconnecting the external monitor, put the main SQL Navigator window in the main or laptop LCD screen, and then exit SQL Navigator from there.
RESOLUTION 1:
1. Select or click SQL Navigator on the windows Task Bar
2. Press Escape to close the login window (This step can be skipped if auto login is set.)
3. Press ALT + SPACE
4. Press M and then hold down the Left Arrow key (assuming the secondary monitor is on the right; otherwise hold down Right Arrow) until the Toad window slides into view.
RESOLUTION 2:
1) Press and HOLD the Alt key
2) Press the Tab key some number of times until the cycling lands on the SQL Navigator icon again
3) Release the keys and see if SQL Navigator will appear
RESOLUTION 3:
1) Click the SQL Navigator item in the Taskbar to ensure it is in focus (do not click anywhere else)
2) Press Alt + Space + M keys all together, then release
3) Press the up, down, left, right Arrow keys several times and see if SQL Navigator will eventually appear from the sides of the screen.
4) Move your mouse as well (but don't click anything yet)
5) See if the SQL Navigator window will eventually appear
RESOLUTION 4:
1) Click SQL Navigator item in the Taskbar to ensure it is in focus (don't click anywhere else)
2) Press Alt + Space + M keys all together, then release
3) Press the up, down, left, right Arrow keys several times
4) Mouse click on the SQL Navigator item again in the Taskbar and see if the Toad window will appear from the sides of the screen
RESOLUTION 5:
Reset the window docking/placement/layout settings for the whole application. To do this, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER | Software | Quest Software | SQL Navigator, and find the particular version you're working with. Go to "Docking Windows" and rename it to "Docking Windows OLD". Any keys deleted in this registry branch will be automatically recreated when SQL Navigator starts or when certain functions are invoked while SQL Navigator is still running.
IMPORTANT: Make a back-up of the Registry in case of errors.
