When trying to export data from grid, right click, export and select to export to Excel. If the option "Open Exported File" is unchecked, there is no problem with the file. If this is checked and exported, then the error "excel found unreadable contents... do you want to recover the contents" pops up. No data is displayed, but the file itself is created.
If that file is opened directly, the same error comes up. Clicking yes may or may not bring up the contents of the file.
WORKAROUND 1:
Uncheck the option "Open Exported File" when exporting to Excel.
WORKAROUND 2:
Open Excel before opening the specific file created by SQL Navigator.
WORKAROUND 3:
In some cases, clicking OK to the error when opening the file will allow the file to continue to open and display data.
STATUS:
Issue fixed in SQL Navigator 6.2.1. The latest version of SQL Navigator can be downloaded at: http://support.quest.com/support_download/Downloads.asp
This may be an issue in either Excel 2003 or 2007.
