On a AlwaysOn Availability Group setup, only backups are performed on a Primary Replica, however if there is a failover an alarm indicating a backup has not been performed X number of days occurs since backups on the Secondary Replica are not performed. This causes a false alarm within Spotlight. Is there a way to configure so Spotlight ignores backups on a Secondary Replica?

Set the availability group backup preferences to Primary in SSMS:

SOLUTION:
Starting in Spotlight 12.4, enhancement ID: DS-1425 has been implemented so that Spotlight is aware of any replica in the AG having a backup that has occurred and to not raise an alarm for the other replicas.
