Being a fully paid up user of SQL LiteSpeed I would like to distribute my LiteSpeed backups to my clients, some do not use LiteSpeed. Can I distribute the extractor utility with the backup files to these customers ?
Yes, Product Management has confirmed that you can freely distribute the extractor utility with your backup files to those customer who do not have LiteSpeed.
Other considerations: As an alternative you may wish to look at creating a Double Click Restore backup. Then you would only need to distribute the .exe file that gets created. Read the notes on this feature in the help file - OS limits .exe files to 4Gb, so you will need to stripe if larger than this size. The Help file gives more information on limitations.
