When working in the editor, at some points Toad seems to hang. Background process seems to be running a "select * ". This affects performance. (4231598)

When working in the editor and Code Completion, at some points, it will hang. Toad seems responsive as you can type in the editor and click on menus. But if, when attempting to run the query that was being written, Toad does not respond and does not run the query.

In some cases, reviewing background processes that are running while Toad is hung in the editor shows a query of "select * from <large table>". 

WORKAROUND 1:

Go to Tools | Options | Editor | Code Completion and enable the "Exclude column sample data" setting.

WORKAROUND 2:

Go to Tools | Options | Editor | Code Completion and disable "Auto list members" setting.

STATUS:

Waiting for fix in a future version of Toad Data Point.
