Italicized script displays as gibberish. If it's not italicized and italics is disabled under Syntax Highlighting, it shows up properly and readable. For example COMMENTS in green italic cannot be read.
This seems to only be a problem when working with the TS client in Linux. Windows RDP works fine.
This is a problem with the italic settings with non-True Type fonts (i.e. Courier, Fixedsys, etc.) and does not seem to be a problem with True Type fonts.
WORKAROUND 1:
Change font type to a True Type font under View | Toad Options | Editor | Behavior | Languages -- Syntax Highlighting.
WORKAROUND 2:
Disable italic settings for script under View | Toad Options | Editor | Behavior | Languages -- Syntax Highlighting.
STATUS:
Enhancement request ST62823 has been submitted to Development for consideration in a future release of Toad for Oracle.
In some cases, if a screen shot <alt-prtscr> in the TS Client is made of TOAD running with the corrupted italic display, the subsequent paste of the bitmap (e.g. into MS Paint) shows the fonts rendered properly.
