Upgrade process for DA (Desktop Authority) version 8.x through DA 9.x with new server migration and new SQL install
Note: These steps ONLY apply to a local installation of SQL. SQL must be on the originating server and also installed on the new server
Note: It is necessary to upgrade to DA 8.1.2 if upgrading to DA 9.1 or above
1. Back up the original DAConfiguration and DAReporting databases
2. Install SQL Server or Express on the new DA Server
3. Restore the backed up databases to the new SQL Server
4. Install DA 9.x on the new DA Server
5. Point to the new SQL installation on the new DA server when prompted
6. Copy over the Register.ini file from:
C: | Program Files | ScriptLogic Manager
on the originating server and paste it to:
C: | Program Files | ScriptLogic | Desktop Authority Manager
on the new DA server
7. Copy over the SLStart.ini file from:
C: | Program Files | ScriptLogic Manager | Scripts
on the originating DA server and paste it to:
C: Program Files | ScriptLogic | Desktop Authority Manager | Scripts |
on the new DA server
Note: Both servers have a share named SLScripts$. To avoid issues, it is best practice to disable the share on the originating server if the server will remain in the domain.
