A real-time alert unexpectedly creates mass amounts of alerts due to many matching events. This may be sending mass amounts of unwanted email and the desire exists to temporarily block\drop sending queued alerts.
A real-time alert has matched over and over again many events matching alert criteria.
1) Try blocking the connection to the Exchange server so that the alerts fail to send. Once failure to send alert messages subside in the InTrust event log re-enable the connection.
2) Change the Exchange server name in the InTrust Manager so the destination is not a valid SMTP server. Once failure to send alert messages subside in the InTrust event log re-enable the connection.
