Is there an Insight that displays Exchange white space information?
Description
I would like to generate an Insight that contains Exchange Database White Space information, is this possible?
Cause
AvailableNewMailboxSpace is the attribute received from the Get-MailboxDatabase PowerShell command. Some people do refer to it as the white space, but that is not technically accurate. AvailableNewMailboxSpace tells you is how much space is available in the root tree of the database. It does not factor in the free pages within mailbox tables, index tables, etc. It is not representative of the white space within the database.
Resolution
No, by design UC-Analytics does not collect and report on true White space information.
WORKAROUND:
1. From UC Analytics select the Insight:
2. Storage / Stores,
3. Click Filters | + Symbol to add a filter
4. Add the field, 'AvailableNewMailboxSpace'
Note: It may not be there by default depending on the UCA version you're running. Click the 'Advanced Fields' check mark for it to show. It offers a host of standard store fields and includes both Public and Mailbox stores.
