After installing Toad I cannot enter my license key. The prompt to register key appears but I cannot type anything into the prompt. I can type elsewhere on my system but not in the Toad Register Authorization Key window.
This prompt is limited to numeric entries. If you are trying to type in anything other than numbers it will not show in the prompt.
Please make sure you have the correct key.
For purchased of Toad for Oracle licenses sent out in the fall of 2009 with the release of Toad 10, keys were created in the new format. The new format is a string of both alpha and numeric characters that can be 20 characters or longer, some including dashes (-).
Example:
E1TNG7VIY9Z0JKSLUEH55YWNTI3HSII9AT1P-123-34
These new format keys will not work in older Toads. Please use them in Toad 10 and newer.
The old format keys, sent out before with Toad 9.7 and older, the format is a 21 digits strings (no numeric) including dashes (-). These can be used in either old Toad and, at this time, in newer Toads like Toad 10.0 and 10.1.
