Discovery Node Service starts, then stops
Description

Reporter node service stops suddenly, status in Configuration Manager stuck at "initializing" when adding it to cluster.
Cause

The service account for the Reporter Node Service on the node computer is not a member of the local administrators group.
Resolution

- Close the Configuration Manager console.

- Add the service account to the local administrators group on the node computer.

- Restart the Enterprise Reporter Server service on the ER server.

- Open Configuration Manager | Manage Discovery Clusters and associate the node to the cluster.

If needed, follow the steps in KB article 120550 (https://support.quest.com/enterprise-reporter-for-windows-servers/kb/120550) to remove the node from the console, then follow the steps above.
