User running Automation Designer or AppDesigner to create a task. The task runs manually, however, when it is scheduled, the task hangs and does not run.
RESOLUTION 1:
Because Toad uses the Windows Task Scheduler Service for its scheduled automation jobs, please test your access rights to the Windows Task Scheduler Service:
1. Open Windows Task Scheduler (outside of Toad) by going to: Start | Control Panel | Administrative Tools | “Task Scheduler”.
2. Look for the problem scheduled task item that Toad created, and double-click on it.
3. Select (or un-select and re-select) “Run whether user is logged on or not”, and click OK.
4. Windows should prompt you to enter your Windows User Name and Password. Please enter them, and then click OK.
5. Re-test the issue by letting it reach the scheduled run time, and see if the issue will be resolved.
NOTE: If the above does not resolve the issue or if you get errors trying to save your Windows Username and Password, your Windows User probably does not have the proper access rights to the Windows Task Scheduler. Please contact your IT or Helpdesk people, and ask them to check and ensure your Windows User has the proper access rights to the Windows Task Scheduler ‘Service’.
RESOLUTION 2:
To further test your access rights to the Windows Task Scheduler ‘Service’, please create a brand new Task (via the Windows Task Scheduler, not Toad) and schedule it to run as well. The new Task can be any activity i.e. just a simple launch of the Toad.exe program. If this new Task also fails, please contact your IT or Helpdesk people and ask for assistance on fixing the issue.
RESOLUTION 3:
Per a user report, his/her Windows User Password was changed on the server, which disabled the access to the Windows Scheduler. Their IT or Helpdesk people were able to resolve the issue.
