Toad will no longer overwrite or install on top of an existing version of Toad for Oracle installed. It will automatically install onto a new directory path and be installed side-by-side with the previous installation of Toad for Oracle.
In order to migrate settings from the previous version, do not uninstall the previous version installed. Install the new version normally and the installation will prompt to migrate settings.
Then when certain that newer version is functioning with migrated settings, close all instances of Toad for Oracle and uninstall the previous version using the Quest Installer.
1. Go to Start | All Programs | Quest Software | Quest Installer | Quest Installer
2. Check mark Toad for Oracle (click on the "Toad for Oracle" link to ensure the right version is being selected) and click on Next.
3. Click on Uninstall.
