A banner similar to the following appears in the Foglight Management Server (FMS) or the Federator with the message "Configure the global mail server settings via Foglight Administration > Email."
How can this banner be removed because email is not required or used from this server?
One or both of the required email settings are empty, or
One of the SQL Server, Oracle, or DB2 general rules are disabled, such as DBSS-EmailNotification_Rule_General, DBO-EmailNotification_Rule_General, or DB2-EmailNotification_Rule_General
RESOLUTION 1
Use a placeholder value in the mail server and email sender address fields in Administration | Setup | Email Configuration.
For example a . (period symbol) in both fields should remove the banner.
RESOLUTION 2
Customize the function "Check Email Server And General Rules" by commenting out the line to check the status of the rules and variables. This customization would be overwritten in every cartridge upgrade.
