When connecting to Toad, I see two connection session events occur in our audit reports for some reason; why does that occur in Toad? In SQL Plus, we only see on session occur.
Please note that there only remains one active session for any given connect attempt. When connecting manually, Toad will log in then immediately log out, then a second session will open and remain open until manually closed by the user.
There are dual connections at first start because some things are automatically threaded so the user doesn't have to wait for the connection to load. For example, loading up the Schema Browser objects when logging on.
This is automatic and built into Toad as designed, there is not an option that can be turned off in the Toad options.
