How to move LiteSpeed maintnenance plans from one server to another when a new server is implemented?

Earlier versions of LiteSpeed do not have a tool to allow moving an existing maintenance plan to a new server. However, LiteSpeed does support the ability to move or copy jobs from one instance to another from within the LiteSpeed console. Since the nature of maintenance plans is such that they generally encompass multiple databases (meaning there are generally only a few on each instance) and they can be very specific to a particular set of databases (andinsysdbmaintplans,sysdbmaintplan_databases andsysdbmaintplan_jobs), its usually best to recreate them on the new instance.

WORKAROUND:
The native SQL Server toolprovides these directions for this process. This is not a supported method for LiteSpeed.

* Run Management Studio
* Connect to the Integration Services engine on the source server (from the Object Explorer Connect menu)
* Navigate to Stored Packages - MSDB - Maintenance Plans
* Right-click and Export Package
* Import the package on the destination server

NOTE:  LiteSpeed 6.0 supports this functionality through its new “Import/Export” functionality for maintenance plans.
