Toad for Oracle installer program files was extracted in order to silently install Toad and SQL Optimizer. There are two folders: "QuestSQLOptimizer_Oracle" and "QuestSQLOptimizer_Oracle_Common" holding two MSI files. However, there is also a "SQL_Tuning6" folder holding a QuestSQLTuning_Oracle_612.exe file. Does this file also need to be execute to install Optimizer? If so, what does this file install?
QuestSQLTuning_Oracle_612.exe does not need to be executed. This file is available for users who only want to install and use the old version of SQL Tuning outside of SQL Optimizer. Running this file on its own will only install the SQL Tuning portion of Optimizer.
If installing the entire SQL Optimizer product, running the MSI files is only necessary. There is no need to run the QuestSQLTuning_Oracle_612.exe file.
