When viewing Maintenance Plans in the LiteSpeed console, some have a designation of Legacy.
1. To take advantage of Integration Services (SSIS) in maintenance plans, you must install SSIS components on the client where the LiteSpeed console is installed and on any server instance where you want to create maintenance plans. SSIS components may be a part of the Client Tools 2005/2008 or a part of SQL Server.
2. Previous LiteSpeed 4.x and SQL Server 2000 maintenance plans are considered legacy plans.
3. LiteSpeed also creates a legacy maintenance plan when:
SSIS components are not installed on either client or/and server
SSIS components are of different versions (except for SSIS 2008 installed on a client machine and SSIS 2005 SP2 or higher installed on a server)
SSIS components for SQL Server 2005 version is lower than 9.00.3042 (Service Pack 2)
See SOL51875
As of LiteSpeed for SQL Server 5.0.1 and 5.0.2, only legacy maintenance plans for SQL Server 2008 are supported.
This means that only the tasks listed below are available in LiteSpeed GUI:
