In the User Guide under 'Permissions required to use Recovery Manager for Active Directory there is a section for 'View Recovery Manger for Active Directory configuration'. This section states that the account must have Write permission on the folder
%AllUsersProfile%\Quest\Recovery Manager for Active Directory that is located on the Recovery Manager for Active Directory server.
After granting an account write permission to the folder and the child objects, the follow error may occur when the account tries to open the RMAD console:
"MMC has detected an error in a snap-in. It is recommended that you shutdown and restart MMC."
Selecting the option 'Continue running and ignore errors with this snap-in for the rest of the session' and click OK results in the console opening, however when viewing the properties for a collection, the schedule is not populated and the Sessions and Backups nodes in the console are not visible.
User Account Control (UAC) is enabled on the RMAD server.
With UAC enabled the account needs to be a member of the local Administrator group on the RMAD sever as described under the section 'Open and use the Recovery Manager console'. The User Guide will be updated in the next release to remove the section 'View Recovery Manger for Active Directory configuration'.
If the account cannot be added to the local Administrator group, UAC needs to be disabled for the account to be able to view the RMAD console properly.
