New feature introduced in Spotlight 12.1 - Configure Defragmentation Collection (4219942)

The Configure Defragmentation Check feature allows users to set parameters for checking fragmentation information of object partitions in Index Fragmentation drilldown of Spotlight. These custom settings can be applied to a set of connections or a template. To access this screen from Configure tab navigate to Defragmentation Collection option.

By default, only check fragmentation for partitions of minimal size that were used in at least minimal size that were used in at least minimal scan or update operations since instance has started. Available custom settings:

1. Select template or connection to configure

2. Override the factory settings - enable option to enter custom settings

3. Select Databases (available when a connection name is selected in step 1)

a. All

b. Specify Database

4. Minimum Size – enter minimum size count in MB

5. Minimum Usage Operations

6. Show Top – enter number of top partitions by average fragmentation %

Apply to Configuration – Applies the custom settings to other connections

Save As Template – Saves the custom settings to a template
