How to connect to a Lync Edge server in the perimeter network? (4219682)

Running a Lync Server Health Test against Edge servers results in the test showing as "Not Completed" for each server.

Clicking the server name in the Test Results shows:

1. "Failed to retrieve disk space values using WMI" Double clicking this entry gives the following details:
   "WMI connection failed on server <edgeServerName> (Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED))). Name space is
   \\<edgeServerName>\root\cimv2<file:///\\<edgeServerName>\root\cimv2>
    
2. "Failed to enumerate servcies" Double click this entry gives the following details:
   Cannot open Service Control Manager on computer '<edgeServerName>'. This operation might require other privileges.
   Verify that the user account used for test execution has sufficient rights to the service control manager on <edgeServerName>.

Insufficient rights to the Lync Edge servers and/or User Account Control (UAC) is enabled on the Lync Edge Servers.

1. Create a local account on the Lync Edge server with the exact same username and password as the Spotlight on Messaging service account and add this new local account to the local Administrators group on the Lync Edge server.
2. Disable UAC on the Lync Edge server
3. Provide short name resolution for the Lync Edge server:
   - Add a record for the Lync Edge server to the Host file on the Spotlight on Messaging Server
   OR
   - Add an A record in DNS for the Lync Edge server
