When running the dataloader service in an Exchange environment where journalling is enabled the following error may be obtained:
AfterMail.Log.DataLoader
[1749612380-1179854255-11-0x0] Failed to process MAPI
System.Exception: Unable to obtain server DN for user servername//o=First Organization/ou=First Administrative Group/cn=Recipients/cn=ArchiveMgr_Journal from database
at AfterMail.DataLoader.DataLoader.GetUserAndServerDNs()
at AfterMail.DataLoader.DataLoader.WriteWorkerConfigFile()
at AfterMail.DataLoader.DataLoader.ProcessMAPIMailNew()
There are a number of reasons why this error may be displayed.
Here are some things to check.
1. Verify the legacyExchangeDN value displayed in the error and match that with the legacyExchangeDN attribute on the journalling account in AD through ADSI edit.
2. Verify that the Active Directory Connector service in Archive Manager has been successfully run and the journalling account has updated its legacyExchangeDN value in the login and mailbox table in the Archive Manager SQL server database.
3. Verify that the Journalling mailbox in Exchange can be logged into using an Outlook client.
4. Verify that the Journalling Active Directory account is active, has not been locked or has been disabled
5. Verify that the Journalling mailbox in Archive Manager has not been deleted.This can be checked in the Mailbox table in the SQL database. Make sure that the deleted column does not equal True.
To resolve this issue, use the resolution number that pertains to the cause number (as listed above):
1. Remove the incorrect User ID that is dsplayed in the Administration webpage of Archive manager in the Dataloader section and in the MAP dataloader that was created for journalling. The User ID must be identical to the actual legacyExchangeDN that is displayed in Active Directory.
2. Run the ADC and verify that the journalling account has been properly updated in the login and mailbox table in the Archive Manager SQL server database
3. Resolve the mailbox in Exchange so that the mailbox can be logged into from Outlook
4. Unlock or renable the journalling account in Active Directory.
5. Navigate to the Mailbox table in the Archive Manager SQL server database, and in the Deleted column of that table change the True value to False.
