The Exchange Mail-Enabled Object task not only counts the number of mail-enabled objects but also collects attributes for these objects and writes the data to the database and as such can take a long time to complete. This task running for hours may not be an indication of a problem. If any running gathering or task completes within a 24 hour period, MessageStats is performing correctly.
