During a restore of an offline database you see the following error on screen:
The log for database 'RME-Storages-<ServerName>' is not available. Check the event log for related error messages. Resolve any errors and restart the database.
Confirm the .ldf file for the RME-Storages database exists on the SQL server where the RME-Storages-<ServerName> database is located.
WORKAROUND
1. Connect to the database instance where the Recovery Manager for Exchange databases reside (e.g Servername\QUESTRMEX) and delete the RME-Storages database.
2. Uninstall and Reinstall Recovery Manager for Exchange so it recreates the database.
Note: You may see an error during reinstallation about the databases. If you do, open SQL Server Management Studio again and delete the remaining two databases (there are three RME databases total) and then reinstall the product.
