1. Microsoft LyncServerReports report all activities no matter whether they succeeded or failed. For example, it reports all failed IM activities even when the IM was not successful. Our MessageStats Lync reports do not report failed activities.
2. For IM activities, Microsoft LyncServerReports reports both the number of sessions and the number of messages of the sessions. MessageStats Lync reports show the messages for IM activities, but it does not show the number of IM sessions. For example, if two people have two IM sessions, in the first session there are 10 messages sent and in the second session, there are 20 messages sent, from Microsoft LyncServerReports, we can see both the session numbers 2 and the messages number 30 (10+20), but from MessageStats Lync reports, we can only see the number of messages (30) and do not see the number of sessions (2).
3. Microsoft Peer-to-Peer Activity Summary Report include all sessions for IM, P2P Audio, P2P Video, P2P Application, File Transfer, and Enterprise Voice Call. MessageStats Lync Reports include only P2P Audio, P2P Video and P2P Desktop Sharing. It does not include IM and File Transfer.
4. MessageStats P2P Session Details reports shows multiple categories combined (video + audio = video), while Microsoft LyncServerReports shows sessions for each category (video, audio and\or audio and video).
5. MessageStats reports for P2P Audio, P2P Video, P2P Desktop Sharing do not include public sessions. Microsoft LyncServerReports show the failed traffic.
