Backups fail with "HostName is not licensed for the backup feature".
The Tools | Options | Licensing Host window verified that the licensed hosts were selected for EsxBackup.
The My Inventory view, however, did not display a gold key, rather it was grey.
There are items in the background of the vRanger inventory which are causing a DB issue

WORKAROUND 1
On the vRanger console, open Tools; Options; Licensing Host and clear the checkboxes for all hosts.
From the My Inventory view, right-click each host and select "Remove Credentials".
From the My Inventory view, right-click the vCenter(s) and select "Remove VirtualCenter".
Using the Add drop-down at the top of the My Inventory panel, add the vCenter(s).
If the hosts have not been re-added with the vCenter, use the Add drop-down to add the ESX Hosts.
Open Tools; Options; Licensing Host and select the checkboxes for all desired hosts.
WORKAROUND 2
Ensure that the trial license is not expired.
Go to Tools | Options | Licensing Product window. Verify that the license is not expired.
