Description: Getting started with Oracle APM 5.0.
Documentation for Oracle APM 5.0 can be found in the EURN and the Users Guide. This is a "getting started" summary.
1. The new "Oracle APM" (5.0) combines the functions of the Oracle online & RMAN APMs, the backup functionality (RMAN or online, now called "User Managed") is selected via that backup options.
2. The new Oracle APM is installed as a new plugin, and will show in the backup selection windows as a separate item called “Oracle APM", it does not replace the old APMs "Oracle RMAN" or "Oracle online APM".
3. The "Oracle APM" will make use of the old Oracle APM licenses if available.
4. Once "Oracle APM" has been installed, you will not be able to use the old "Oracle RMAN" or "Oracle Online APM" plugins.
5. Existing jobs created with the "Oracle Online APM” will fail and should be replaced with newly defined jobs using the new APM.

6. Existing jobs created with the "Oracle RMAN" apm will work but it is recommended that the jobs are recreated with the new APM in order to ensure stability.
7. Backups created with the "Oracle RMAN" and "Oracle Online APM" can be restored with "Oracle APM 5.0"
8. Oracle APM 5.0 has a minimum Netvault version of 7.4.5 and will not work on earlier versions correctly.
9. Oracle APM will not work with the Netvault Backup encryption functionality.
