Upon trying to backup VMs residing on NFS storage on a specific ESX(i) host the error :3201 - Can't open [datastore]***.vmdk is thrown. However if you remove Virtual Center out of vRanger Inventory and backup straight against this troublesome ESX(i) host the backups succeed.
Possible Cause: registration issues between the host and Virtual Center.
In vSphere client right click on the ESX(i) host in question and choose disconnect. Then simply add the ESX(i) host back into the Virtual Center. Please note by disconnecting the host it will not affect the running VMs on the host at all.
