vRanger Restore error: The stream appears to have been cutoff mid-transfer (4047845)

When trying to restore in Vi3 with vRanger 3.0 you receive the following Error.

Error Performing Restore: A data transfer error occurred performing the restore. The stream appears to have been cutoff mid-transfer.

Do you have more than one NIC on the vRanger host?
 

• If so, make sure your binding order is set for the NIC that vRanger would use to talk to the esx host is on top.
  Properties on Network Connections > advanced > advanced settings make sure the correct NIC is on top.
• If that doesn’t work do the following
  SSH to the esx host and type
  service iptables stop
• Then try your restore, once done you can turn on Iptables by disabling the SSH client and enabling it again from the VC client.
• On the host click configuration > security Profile > Properties > uncheck SSH client click ok then go back in and recheck it then hit ok that will start iptables again.
• If you want to check status of iptables, you can type this command from the Ssh prompt
  service iptables status

This has been resolved in vRanger 3.1

Note: if you’re running 2.x vRanger Pro you must upgrade to 3.0 or use 3.1 to resolve this issue.
