After upgrading from vReplicator 3x to vRanger 5x you experiance slow throughput when replicating vms previously replicated with 3x.
There are several things to check.
1) Be sure that the ESX hosts are properly credentialed (vRanger 5x does not require host credentials if Virtual Center is configure)
2) Open a putty session to the target and source ESX hosts
- cd into the directory for the vms
- delete any files ending in .vzmap or .vzundo (example: rm -r *.vzmap)
- rm vzundo-script
3) If using CBT on the Source ESX host
- locate vm in vRanger My Inventory and right-click and select Disable Change Tracking
- in Virtual Center locate the vm and create a snapshot, be sure the "snapshot memory" and "quiesced snapshot" are NOT checked
- once the snapshot is complete do a "Delete All" operation in snapshot manage
- locate vm in vRanger My Inventory and right-click and select Enable Change Tracking
- in Virtual Center locate the vm and create a snapshot, be sure the "snapshot memory" and "quiesced snapshot" are NOT checked
- once the snapshot is complete do a "Delete All" operation in snapshot manage
4) If Change Tracking is enabled on target repeat step 3 on target vm.
Replication jobs should now run as usual.
