Description: This document details the steps needed to trigger a Netvault report upon successful completion of a backup job.
For more information on this topic, please see the Administration Module 2-Basic Operation of NetVault Backup-Web-based Training
1. Edit the backup job and in the Advanced options check the "Raise Event if Job is Successful" check box and enter the text "Jobsuccessful" in the text box. Save Job.
2. Go into Reports and edit your "Single Job Summary" report. Edit the Job title to reflect the fact that it is for one Job ID (example "Summary for Overnight backup of Server"). This will ensure you retain your original "Single Job Summary" report. At the bottom you will see your "Selected components".
Double click on each component in turn and do the following steps:
3. Double click "Job Id", uncheck "Prompt for value" and set Job ID value to the value of the backup job. Click OK.
4. Double click "Instance", uncheck "Prompt for value" and from the operator dropdown box select ">=". Ensure the value is set to 1. Click OK.
5. Enter a new name for the component so you don't overwrite the original.
6. Click Save icon to save the component.
Repeat steps 3 to 6 for all components. When they are all edited click Save in the "Reporting Job Editor". Note the Job ID as you will need it in the next step.
7. Go into Global Notifications and you will find a section titled "Job - User defined". Double click this. Double click the entry titled "Jobsuccessful" (or whatever text you wrote in the paragraph above. Check the box next to "Run a job" and then double click "Run a job". Enter the Job ID you noted in the previous step in the text box as "JOBID=nn" where nn is the Job ID. Click OK and save your global notifications.
