This could be the result of inadequate Authentication Requirements
The NVSD install requires Root-level or administrator account for installation – Root-level or administrator credentials are only required for use during the installation process, removal process, and, if necessary, manually restarting the NVSD Services.
There also need to be a NVSD Non-privileged Group and User – Security group with full NVSD configuration and monitoring rights.
Create a Non-privileged user, see the 'NetVault®: SmartDisk™ Installation/Upgrade Guide' on how to create a "Non-privileged user".
"Once the "Non-privileged user" has been created, delete then re-installed Smartdisk as per the 'NetVault®: SmartDisk™ Installation/Upgrade Guide"
NVSD Versions 1.5 and higher will create the non-privilaged user for you during the installation process if you would like.
